President - Alex Perales

Hey everyone. I am an avid outdoorsman whose current outdoor pursuit revolves around cycling! I got my first mountain bike in in my hometown of El Paso in 2009 but did not get seriously into the hobby until 2020. Since moving to the Fort Worth side of DFW I found FWMBA trails and then fell in love with Sansom Park. That trail is where giving back to the community started as I became a Trail Steward. I enjoy all kinds of adventures on bikes but I am partial to Enduro trails and events. You will usually find me riding at Sansom Park enjoying the enduro trails or pedaling and training for long distance efforts as I fundraise for my son and others who have Type 1 Diabetes. If you see me on the trails please consider introducing yourself as I love to meet new people in the community. Enjoy the trails!

Vice President - Jenn Lakanen

Jenn moved to Fort Worth from Alabama in 2014 but didn’t get her first hardtail until 2019. Once covid hit, a casual side hobby turned into a full fledged addiction on a full suspension bike. She met some mtb friends who talked her into trying enduro racing. She was hooked immediately and has thoroughly enjoyed racing in the TX/AR enduro series for a few years. She recently started dabbling in Cross Country racing, and also rides gravel from time to time. She loves seeing mtb friends conquer features they never thought possible. The best part about mountain biking is the community…she enjoys seeing familiar faces at all the FWMBA trails! Come say hi at the local races, she will most likely be there!

Treasurer - Matt Reynolds

Hey, my name is Matt Reynolds. I was born in Fort Worth but have lived all over. I’ve been riding a bicycle since I was 3 years old. I rode a lot of BMX throughout my teenage years and into my 20’s. A buddy invited me to go ride mountain bikes back in 2011 and I’ve been hooked ever since! I love all of our trails in the north Texas area but the FWMBA trails have always been the ones I find myself on the most. I’m really excited to help out the club and see our trails and membership grow over the coming year. When I’m off the bike I enjoy spending time with my wife Lindsay and our pup Gypsy. I love good food, cold beer, punk rock, art and anything that involves two wheels. Hope to see you out on the trail soon!

Membership - Courtney Russo

Courtney moved to the Fort Worth area in 2018 and soon discovered her love for biking - a decision she considers one of the best she’s ever made! She bought her first mountain bike with the goal of making new friends, enjoying the outdoors and staying active. Seven years later, mountain biking has exceeded all expectations!

As the new Membership Coordinator for FWMBA, Courtney is excited to help grow the club, promote our incredible local trails and connect with fellow riders. You can find her on the trails, at FWMBA events or out and about with her loyal dog, Goldie!
